What makes her awesome

I’m an aspiring full-stack software engineer/site reliability engineer. I’m currently an SWE Intern at IBM India System Development Labs. I work extensively with JavaScript(React) and Python(Django, Flask). I have done projects in the MERN stack. I have experience as Python Developer Intern and Frontend Developer Intern. I have worked with MongoDB and MySQL databases. I have a fair knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform. As an avid open-source contributor skilled in Git version control, I have the ability to quickly learn and adjust to new frameworks/tech stacks.

The moment she knew a career in tech was for her

I’ve always been fascinated by technology and how it has transformed the world we live in. I was first introduced to programming during my high school years, and it was then that I knew I wanted to pursue a career in tech. I was immediately drawn to the logical thinking and problem-solving aspects of coding, and I found myself spending hours tinkering with code and experimenting with different languages. However, as I entered college, I noticed that there was a significant gender gap in the tech industry. Women were often underrepresented and undervalued in this field, and this made me even more determined to pursue a career in tech. I wanted to challenge the status quo and show that women can excel in this field just as much as men. As I continued my studies and gained more experience, I realized that technology has the power to make a significant impact on society. From creating innovative products to solving complex problems, technology can transform the world in so many ways. Being a part of this transformation is incredibly fulfilling and motivates me to continue pursuing a career in tech. Overall, my passion for technology and desire to challenge gender stereotypes in this field have been the driving forces behind my decision to pursue a career in tech. I hope to inspire other women to do the same and help create a more inclusive and diverse tech industry.

What the RTC community means to her

Before I discovered Rewriting the Code, I was seeking mentorship, networking opportunities, or resources to help them advance in their careers. I have attended two virtual career summits and was lucky to be a part of the amazing Tech Intensive program. The RTC community has provided me with a wealth of support and resources. It offered me a safe and inclusive space for individuals to share my experience, ask questions, and seek advice. It gave me a sense of belonging and validation to individuals who have historically been underrepresented or marginalized in the tech industry.

What impact do you want to make?

I would like to use technology to address social issues such as poverty, inequality, and discrimination by providing access to information and resources, connecting communities, and promoting social change.
