How she decided she wanted to pursue a career in tech

I remember watching Disney’s Big Hero 6, and deciding that I would build my own Baymax one day. From that moment my passion for the tech industry has continued to grow; it’s so vast and exciting, and there are so many opportunities to innovate and create solutions that impact lives for the better. I love to help people, so a career in tech is the perfect place to be!

How she is navigating current challenges

Applying for insights and internships can be overwhelming, but RTC’s Rise programs and the Slack community have been super helpful in highlighting opportunities and providing advice on how to perfect my applications.

What the RTC community means to her

I joined RTC because the gender imbalance within the tech industry can be discouraging, especially in university. It’s been invaluable to find such a welcoming community where everyone is so supportive, and there are loads of great opportunities to boost my skills. Through RTC I’ve been able to meet so many amazing women and listen to their stories, which has made me more confident to break into the tech industry and to continue to advocate for women in tech.
