Reflecting on the strides we’ve made in 2023, we’re grateful for what we’ve achieved together at Rewriting the Code. Last year was not just about growth and milestones; it was about strengthening our commitment to empowering women in technology—making our community more inclusive, supportive, and vibrant than ever before.

Last year, we embarked on an exciting journey beyond our familiar borders, establishing our first international footprint in the UK. This expansion isn’t just geographical; it’s a leap towards embracing and addressing the global challenges women face in tech. We’ve also taken significant steps to intentionally support Native American and Indigenous women in technology, aligning with our mission to bridge the gender gap in tech comprehensively.

Our community’s heartbeat—comprising thousands of undergraduate and graduate students—has grown by 28% year over year. Our early-career members now exceed 14,000, contributing to a rich tapestry of talent, determination, and innovation. These numbers are a testament to the strength and vibrancy of our community.

The impact we’ve made together is tangible. From distributing substantial funds through the Women in Tech Fund to witnessing the influence of our programs and events like our Summer Tech Hubs and the Virtual Career Summit, we’ve seen firsthand how our collective efforts have paved the way for a brighter, more inclusive future in tech.

Looking ahead to 2024, we’re poised to scale our impact even further. With plans to broaden our membership, expand globally, and deepen our equity work, we’re inviting our community, partners, and supporters to join us in this ambitious journey. Our goal is not just to support women in their tech careers but to transform the industry to reflect the diversity and brilliance of the world around us.
