Key Findings

Insight #1

Feelings of judgment, inadequacy, intimidation, and discomfort are the top reasons our students do not utilize the resources available.

Barriers for student image, repeating what's above.

Matters: Many students share these feelings regardless of their year. Knowing they’re not alone can help them push past hesitation and engage with their community confidently. By acknowledging these struggles openly, RTC fosters a culture where students feel empowered to seek help, utilize resources, and engage with their community without fear of judgment. When students understand that their peers share similar doubts, they’re more likely to push past their hesitation and take steps toward growth.

Creating an environment where students feel safe, supported, and confident in their abilities is essential for RTC and all schools and organizations.

Insight #2

56% of students said learning new skills is their biggest career focus

Why It Matters: Members are proactively preparing for their careers by developing new skills to make them more competitive in the job market. They want to succeed and are devoting themselves to new skills.

Insight #3

As members progress in their studies, they become more likely to seek support from professors, advisors, and counselors.

As members progress in their studies, they become more likely to seek support from professors, advisors, and counselors.

Why It Matters: Freshmen often feel nervous and uncertain, but as they progress, they build confidence and a network of trusted mentors. Having a network of mentors and people around you that you can professionally rely on is key to growth and success.

You aren’t alone.

To our members, we hope these insights show that you aren’t alone. You aren’t the only one feeling this way, and light is at the end of the tunnel. By the end of your university journey, there’s a high probability that you’ll find a network you feel comfortable going to for career help and questions.

Have you ever struggled to find that network? RTC is here to fill that gap.

Here, you’ll never be alone.
